Review by Rechi van Lehen
Unleashed like Houdini
I have to admit that I had mixed expectations for my first show on the Outlaw
tour because I'm not a fan of festivals, but I couldn't resist the prospect
of a changed setlist.
And I wasn't disappointed, on the contrary: Dylan seems liberated, many songs
have been rearranged (great Early Roman Kings and I Can't Wait - and great
the audience's reaction to “my bell still rings!”).
But what surprised me most were the cover songs. The interpretation of Six
Days On The Road showed Bob in an incredible mood, and the band was also
extremely committed.
All in all, I got the impression that Bob was clearly enjoying not being the
main act for once and being freed from the constraints of the Rough And Rowdy
Ways shows.
Mind you, I'm already looking forward to the upcoming shows in October, when
it's time again: Things Aren't What They Were...
But first: Things Have Changed - let's go to Mountain View!
